Accountant II – Finance

About the Role

St. Peter’s Health is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Department. This position plays a key role in supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. The Accountant will collaborate with finance and payroll teams to ensure accurate financial reporting while demonstrating the core values of St. Peter’s Health.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine accounting duties in compliance with accounting standards.

• Support accounts payable and receivable processes.

• Prepare financial schedules for monthly, year-end, and regulatory reporting.

• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.

• Prepare journal entries and complete bank reconciliations.

• Assist with capital asset reconciliation and reporting.

• Review and balance general ledger accounts; analyze variances; prepare reports.

• Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting.

• Assist payroll team with data entry and bi-weekly payroll processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to use multiple financial software programs.

• Strong verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.

• Clear written and verbal communication with excellent grammar and attention to detail.
