Job Responsibilities

Record deposits from Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Retirement Survivors Disability Insurance (RSDI), and Veterans Administration (VA) benefits for children in DFPS conservatorship.

Process accounts payable and receivable transactions in IMPACT, including posting revenue transactions and submitting invoices.

Monitor, reconcile, and maintain child trust and savings accounts in compliance with GAAP and federal and state policy.

Review daily transactions for accuracy and fraudulent activity; complete monthly reconciliations of bank accounts.

Allocate children’s income, issue disbursements within required timelines, and facilitate collection of funds when necessary.

Work with providers to resolve billing discrepancies and set up payment arrangements when required.

Maintain accurate financial records and assist with staff cross-training as needed.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Two years of full-time experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, financial operations, or banking.
Acceptable Substitutions
-
Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university, including nine in accounting, may substitute for one year of experience.

Sixty semester hours from an accredited college or university, including twelve in accounting, may substitute for two years of experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of governmental accounting, reconciliation, general ledger, and federal/state reporting.

Familiarity with GAAP standards and complex automated accounting systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook).

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to interpret complex federal and state regulations.

Ability to meet strict deadlines and prepare accurate financial reports.
Additional Requirements

Must pass a background check and driver’s record check (if applicable).

Must comply with Texas Administrative Code standards for cybersecurity and accessibility training (WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508).
