Overview
This recruitment is part of the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, a focused initiative designed to expedite the hiring process and quickly connect qualified applicants to job opportunities across Hawai‘i.
Applications will be reviewed for legal authorization to work in the U.S. Those who pass this review will be referred to the hiring department for initial consideration. Applicants meeting the department’s review criteria may be contacted for an interview, and those interviewed will be notified of their selection status. A final review will be conducted by the Department of Human Resources Development to confirm qualifications.
Salary

Level III: $4,858 – $5,918/month

Level IV: $5,258 – $6,399/month

Level V: $5,918 – $7,198/month

Level VI: $6,399 – $7,787/month
Hiring rates depend on qualifications, funding, and other factors.
Duties
Positions in this series provide professional accounting services for government agencies, advising on fiscal transactions, developing accounting systems, and supporting budgeting practices.

Accountant III: Independently performs professional accounting, analyzes fiscal data, and maintains accounting systems.

Accountant IV: Handles complex accounting, offers advisory services, and manages accounting functions.

Accountant V: Supervises major accounting programs, revises state accounting systems, and prepares financial statements.

Accountant VI: Oversees accounting and budgeting for large departments.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements based on the position:

Accountant III: Bachelor’s degree with 12 semester credit hours in accounting; 1.5 years of relevant accounting or auditing experience.

Accountant IV: Bachelor’s degree with 12 semester credit hours in accounting; 2.5 years of relevant experience.
-
Accountant V: Bachelor’s degree with 12 semester credit hours in accounting; 3.5 years of experience.

Accountant VI: Bachelor’s degree with 12 semester credit hours in accounting; 3.5 years of experience, plus one year of supervisory or specialist experience.
