About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting and Finance Manager to take full financial ownership of our growing business in Redmond, WA. This is a high-impact role where you’ll manage financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and strategic analysis while leading a small team and partnering with leadership to drive operational efficiency and profitability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership: Full ownership of the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow/Net Working Capital ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Strategic Planning: Partner with leadership to deliver the Annual Financial Plan and develop forecasting models to support growth strategies.

  • Profitability Analysis: Lead discussions on profitability, analyze key metrics, and recommend cost-saving or revenue-enhancing strategies.

  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify and implement financial and operational improvements to drive efficiency and profitability.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small accounting team (2-3 staff), ensuring deadlines, accuracy, and professional development goals are met.

  • Project Financials: Oversee financial reporting for projects, contracts, and enhancement jobs, ensuring pipeline visibility and profitability tracking.

  • Month-End Close: Lead the monthly close process, review financial statements, investigate variances, and deliver accurate reporting to stakeholders.

  • Compliance & Taxes: Prepare and file city and state tax returns on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Systems Integration: Partner with corporate teams on future ERP system integrations and process automation initiatives.

  • Training & Development: Lead financial training sessions and create educational tools for internal teams to ensure financial literacy across the organization.

  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and financial analysis as needed to support strategic growth.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Experience: 7+ years in accounting/finance roles, including 2+ years in engineering, construction, or design/build industries.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills

    • Experience with QuickBooks and Tier 2 ERP systems (e.g., Sage, NetSuite)

  • Leadership: Previous experience managing a small team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadlines

  • Preferred: Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
