Company Overview
HSAGP (Hyundai-SK America Green Power) Energy LLC is the provisional name for a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Group and SK On. Together, the two companies are investing $5 billion to establish an electric vehicle (EV) battery cell manufacturing plant in Bartow County, Georgia. Each partner will hold a 50% ownership stake in the venture.
The state-of-the-art facility is slated to begin production in the second half of 2025 and will have an annual capacity of 35 GWh—enough to power approximately 300,000 EVs per year.
Strategically located in northwest Georgia, the Bartow County plant is positioned near Hyundai Motor Group’s current and future U.S. manufacturing sites, including the recently launched Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in southeast Georgia, which will produce Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia electric vehicles.
This initiative also complements SK On’s growing footprint in the region. In 2022, the company began EV battery production at its SK Battery America facility in Commerce, Georgia—a $2.6 billion investment with a capacity of 22 GWh, supporting more than 200,000 EVs annually.
