We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Accounts Assistant to join our progressive and established city centre practice. The successful candidate will work closely with a diverse range of clients, supporting the accounting team with day-to-day tasks, including bookkeeping, processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial financial statements and tax returns. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable practical accounting experience in a fast-paced environment. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Main duties will include:
Bookkeeping & Payroll:
- Provide bookkeeping services to clients, including processing invoices, bank reconciliations, and maintaining ledgers.
- Assist with the preparation of payroll for clients, ensuring compliance with Revenue regulations and responding to client queries.
Taxation:
- Prepare and file VAT returns, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns (self-assessments) for clients.
- Liaise with the Revenue Commissioners on behalf of clients regarding tax compliance and other matters.
Accounts Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of year-end and interim accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in compliance with relevant accounting standards
Client Liaison:
- Act as a point of contact for clients, responding to queries regarding accounts, tax, etc.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their businesses and providing proactive advice.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines for clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in accounting and tax legislation.
- Assist in maintaining internal practice policies and procedures in line with professional standards.
- Perform company secretarial duties, such as filing annual returns and other forms via Core.
