Job Overview

We are currently looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our growing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for numbers, accuracy, and client service. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the company’s income by ensuring timely and accurate recording of payments, maintaining customer account records, and supporting the accounts receivable function with administrative and financial tasks.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our UK head office, offering a collaborative work environment and a consistent weekday schedule. You will work closely with other members of the finance and accounts payable teams to help ensure that the company’s financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Incoming Payments: Accurately record all customer payments, ensuring that transactions are processed in a timely and organised manner.

  • Accounts Reconciliation: Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable ledgers to ensure records are correct and up-to-date.

  • Invoicing and Collections: Generate and distribute customer invoices, and follow up with clients via phone and email to collect outstanding payments.

  • Client Communication: Handle payment queries professionally, maintaining a high standard of customer service and demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and provide insights into accounts receivable performance.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the accounts payable team to resolve discrepancies and maintain a consistent flow of financial information.

  • Administrative Support: Contribute to general administrative duties within the finance team, including document management and data entry.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial processes comply with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Telemarketing Support: Help with light telemarketing tasks, such as contacting clients regarding overdue invoices or account updates.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or a similar finance/accounting role (preferred but not essential).

  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (desirable).

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and financial documentation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a confident phone manner.

  • Ability to manage tasks independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.

  • Excellent time management, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
