Are you a dedicated clinician looking to work in a high-impact environment without the pressure of a full on-call rota? Join the Acute Medical Team at Rochdale Infirmary, where you will provide expert care in the Clinical Assessment Unit (CAU), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), or the Oasis Unit—a specialist unit for patients with dementia.

This role offers the chance to be involved in acute care without overnight duties, with options for ad-hoc or regular on-call sessions if desired. It’s ideal for candidates seeking a flexible, meaningful NHS post within a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients referred to CAU and SDEC.

  • Initiate and implement patient-centred management plans.

  • Perform clinical procedures under supervision if needed.

  • Lead or actively contribute to daily board rounds and MDT meetings.

  • Support safe, effective patient flow through the acute care pathway.

  • Collaborate with Consultants, junior medical staff, and nursing teams.

Ideal Candidate

  • GMC-registered clinician with experience in acute/general/internal medicine.

  • Confident managing acute patients and working in multidisciplinary teams.

  • Interest in frailty, same-day emergency care, or dementia care is advantageous.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
