About Us

Purposeful Conversations PLLC is a newly approved remote therapy practice in North Carolina dedicated to providing quality behavioral health services. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated administrative and billing assistant to support our growth.


Position Overview

As an Administrative/Billing Assistant contractor, you will play a key role in insurance paneling, medical billing, and administrative support tasks. This role is ideal for someone seeking flexible supplemental income, working from home with minimal supervision.


Key Responsibilities

Initial (First 1–2 Months):

  • Complete insurance credentialing applications for BCBS, Aetna, Medcost/Trillium, Healthy Blue, WellCare, AmeriHealth, United Healthcare, and others

  • Establish EIN and complete all necessary tax/business documentation

  • Assist with CAQH and NC Tracks profile setup and maintenance

  • Prepare and submit documentation to insurance companies

  • Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets for paneling status, billing, and payments

Ongoing (As Needed):

  • Submit claims using CPT code 90837

  • Verify insurance benefits and client co-pay details

  • Generate and send superbills upon request

  • Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing issues

  • Organize client intake paperwork using PDF Filler (access provided)

  • Perform general administrative duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in medical billing, insurance paneling, and administrative support, preferably in behavioral health or therapy settings

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency or ability to quickly self-train on Excel, Google Sheets, PDF Filler, and Microsoft Office

  • Reliable computer, printer, and internet connection at home

  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

  • Willingness to sign a notarized nondisclosure agreement (company covers notarization costs)

  • Successful completion of background check


Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay: $18/hour ($20/hour with qualifying experience)

  • Hours: 1–5 per week, flexible weekday schedule

  • Workload varies; some weeks minimal to no hours during insurance paneling process, then steady work once paneling is complete
