 About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised, dependable Administrator to join our team at Edgware Community Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will provide professional administrative, clerical, and reception support to a multidisciplinary healthcare team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining efficient office operations and ensuring smooth communication between patients, carers, and staff.

This role requires confidentiality, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience using NHS systems (such as RiO) and handling sensitive information is highly desirable.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks including scheduling, letter drafting, and typing reports/assessments

  • Handle verbal and written referrals from patients, carers, GPs, and staff with sensitivity

  • Manage incoming post, emails, and faxes; ensure accurate and timely information distribution

  • Maintain patient records using NHS Trust systems (e.g., RiO)

  • Photocopy, collate, and manage general correspondence

  • Support departmental meetings and contribute to team goals

  • Uphold data confidentiality under the Data Protection Act

  • Professionally address enquiries and complaints from patients or the public

  • Manage personal workload to meet tight deadlines and objectives

  • Participate in appraisals, supervision, and relevant training

 Requirements

  • Essential:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in administration

    • Proven minute-taking experience (2 years minimum)

    • Strong IT and communication skills

    • Ability to multitask and prioritise under pressure

  • Desirable:

    • Familiarity with NHS systems such as RiO

    • Experience in a healthcare or clinical environment
