As we continue to grow and take on exciting new projects, we’re looking for a dedicated and multi-skilled Aftercare Operative to join our team and help us continue delivering high standards in the post-construction phase — the Deeley Way.

 About the Role

As an Aftercare Operative, you will be an essential part of our Customer Care and Aftercare Team, providing hands-on support in rectifying defects, performing maintenance, and ensuring that our properties meet the high standards our customers expect.

This is a customer-facing role that requires a mix of construction skills, clear communication, and a proactive approach to resolving issues efficiently.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a wide range of maintenance and building tasks, including but not limited to:

    • Carpentry

    • Tiling

    • Painting and decorating

    • Plastering

    • Plumbing

    • Mastic works

  • Arrange access to properties directly with customers, providing sufficient notice and excellent service

  • Engage and liaise with subcontractors when necessary

  • Ensure all tasks are performed in line with Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards

  • Accurately follow and use company aftercare systems and processes

  • Represent Deeley professionally at all times, supporting the company’s values and upholding its trusted reputation

 Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (Grades C/4 or above) including English and Maths

  • Proven experience in a similar role within construction, property maintenance, or aftercare

  • Good IT literacy and ability to follow digital systems

  • Strong multi-skilled ability across various trades (minimum competency in carpentry, decorating, and plumbing)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to manage customer expectations

  • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and manage time effectively

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a customer care or aftercare department within the construction industry

  • Relevant trade qualifications or certifications
