About the Role
The AI Engineer at Underdog plays a key role in driving high-impact AI initiatives across the company. You’ll prototype, validate, and deploy AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable results—while ensuring secure, scalable, and unified integration of AI technologies.
This is both a hands-on technical and strategic role, where you’ll act as a partner, problem-solver, and evangelist to help Underdog become an AI-first organization.
Key Responsibilities

Rapidly prototype, validate, and deploy production-ready AI solutions with measurable ROI.

Partner cross-functionally to define strategy and execution for GenAI, agentic frameworks, and LLM-driven tools.

Integrate and scale in-house and third-party AI solutions with secure, unified architectures.

Act as a technical evangelist, promoting AI adoption and upskilling teams across departments.

Drive an AI-first culture, ensuring scalable workflows and continuous improvement.
Who You Are

Proven experience architecting and shipping AI-powered systems (agents, copilots, automations, workflows).

Skilled in prompt engineering, MLOps, and model optimization.

Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agentic frameworks.

Experience collaborating with Security and IT to safely deploy AI tools.

Strong understanding of model lifecycle management and AI system integration.
Bonus Points

Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral APIs, or LangChain, LlamaIndex, DSPy.

Track record of designing or scaling AI prototypes or production applications.

Knowledge of data security, compliance, and responsible AI deployment.

Contributions to the open-source AI community.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $160,000–$240,000 (based on experience, skills, and location)
Equity: Pre-IPO stock options
Unlimited PTO (flexible, except during early NFL season)
