Join the team at H-E-B as a Perishable Representative! We’re seeking energetic and motivated Partners who love working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy making Customers feel welcome.
In this role, you’ll prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily. You’ll also maintain food safety and sanitation standards while providing excellent customer service in one of our key fresh departments—such as Produce, Market, Seafood, or Floral.

Responsibilities
Customer Service

Assist customers with product questions and orders

Help customers with selections and suggest fresh alternatives
Food Service
-
Prepare, package, and label fresh products
-
Rotate stock for freshness and scan inventory using Telxon
-
Support technical prep and production tasks
Sales
-
Merchandise products to enhance visibility and boost sales
-
Use suggestive selling techniques
-
Make in-store announcements about fresh items
Food Safety & Sanitation

Clean display cases and food prep equipment
-
Follow food safety and sanitation protocols
-
Maintain compliance with department SOPs
Department-Specific Duties
Aguas
-
Prep fruit and vegetables

Prepare fresh drinks and specialty items
Floral
-
Create floral arrangements and seasonal displays

Track inventory and design programs
Market (Meat)

Cut, trim, and prepare meats

Operate processing equipment

Maintain cold storage and stock rotation
Produce

Stock and wrap produce

Provide samples and product education

Maintain signage and floral support
Seafood

Package and label seafood
-
Maintain cold cases and product quality
Requirements

Minimum age: 18
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Completion of H-E-B Orientation & Safety Training upon hire
-
Basic computer knowledge (Telxon, label machines, etc.)

Strong interpersonal and planning skills
Physical Demands
Market Department
-
Lift and manage up to 90 lbs
-
Frequent standing, reaching, bending, stair climbing

Exposure to cold, wet, and occasionally hot or loud conditions
Seafood Department

Lift and manage up to 50 lbs
-
Frequent movement and handling of cold/wet products
-
Exposure to varied temperature and sound environments
Partners should never exceed personal lifting limits. Use teamwork or break loads down when needed.
