Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Greet customers and take orders in person or over the phone

  • Help customers with product selection and questions

Food Service / Production

  • Prepare and package fresh food items

  • Slice, rotate, label, and cull products

  • Assist with basic technical food prep and clean-up

Sales

  • Use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales

  • Apply product knowledge to meet customer needs

Sanitation & Food Safety

  • Sanitize and clean food service areas and displays

  • Maintain and operate equipment safely and properly

  • Follow all food safety and H-E-B sanitation procedures

Department-Specific Responsibilities

Bakery

  • Record production and manage shrink

  • Assist with baking, frying, decorating

  • Cull expired or poor-quality bakery items

Deli

  • Serve customers at the deli counter

  • Manage inventory systems (MSI, PAW)

  • Prepare catering orders

  • Sanitize deli slicers and maintain cleanliness

Prepared Foods

  • Serve and package prepared food items

  • Educate customers on reheating instructions

  • Prepackage sauces, condiments, and assist chefs with prep work

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of company orientation and food safety/sanitation training

  • Ability to work overnight shifts in a fast-paced environment

  • Communication and interpersonal skills

  • Basic computer and label machine proficiency

Physical Requirements

Bakery

  • Constant reaching, frequent walking and bending

  • Occasionally lift 70+ lbs and perform fine motor tasks

  • Exposure to wet, cold, hot conditions and loud noise

Deli

  • Constant reaching and standing

  • Occasionally lift 65+ lbs

  • Exposure to wet, hot, and cold environments
