Column is seeking an experienced AML Compliance Officer to help build world-class compliance programs that power the future of financial technology. In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of compliance, innovation, and customer engagement—ensuring growth while keeping risks in check. The AML Compliance Officer will partner with sales, growth, and compliance teams, assess customer fund flows, and engage directly with regulators. This is a chance to influence how compliance is done in a fast-moving fintech bank built by leaders from Plaid, Square, Meta, and Affirm.
AML Compliance Officer – Key Responsibilities

Lead efforts to understand interactions between customers, products, services, and controls to ensure compliance with AML and risk standards.

Work with the AML Compliance team to design requirements, guidance, and controls for due diligence, monitoring, and risk mitigation.

Partner with sales and growth teams to assess customer behaviors and product use cases.

Provide AML expertise to support customer due diligence and fund flow reviews.

Own and operate AML customer oversight processes, including governance and risk indicators.
AML Compliance Officer – Required Qualifications

10+ years’ experience in banks, fintechs, broker-dealers, or professional services (startup exposure preferred).

Deep knowledge of AML regulations such as BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN, OFAC, and global standards.

Expertise in at least two AML areas: Investigations, Business Advisory, Risk Management, Due Diligence, or Governance.

Experience managing risks in products like FBO accounts, money transmission, or third-party senders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risk and future impact.

Excellent communication skills with proven ability to advise sales and engage with regulators.

SQL and Python experience preferred.
