Key Responsibilities of an AWS Application Cloud Engineer

Provision and manage AWS infrastructure with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize systems using CloudWatch and observability tools.

Collaborate with developers to containerize and deploy applications via ECS and Lambda.

Ensure consistent multi-environment deployments (dev, staging, prod).

Improve CI/CD pipeline performance, reliability, and compliance.

Implement security scanning, vulnerability remediation, and failover strategies.

Develop incident response and disaster recovery playbooks.

Automate daily operational tasks and reduce on-call fatigue.
Required Qualifications for AWS Application Cloud Engineer

5+ years IT experience (with BS/BA) or 9+ years (with HS diploma).

Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and deployment strategies.

Proficiency in Python, Bash, Node.js, YAML/JSON, and Lambda functions.

Knowledge of container orchestration (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes).

Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub, GitLab, Kubernetes, DevOps CI).

AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.

Solid understanding of cloud architecture, scaling, and monitoring tools.

U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust clearance.
