Position Summary:
The Apprentice Plumber is an entry-level role that works under the direct supervision of a Foreman or Journeyman Plumber. Apprentice Plumbers assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures. This position offers hands-on training, growth opportunities, and exposure to various aspects of commercial and industrial plumbing.
Primary Responsibilities:

Assist Journeyman in diagnosing plumbing issues and performing repairs

Install, assemble, and maintain pipes and fixtures

Identify and fix water line leaks; remove clogs

Install or repair plumbing appliances (e.g., dishwashers, water heaters, toilets, sinks)

Test plumbing systems and fixtures for proper function under supervision

Learn and adhere to state/local plumbing codes and safety standards

Perform duties assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent
Skills & Competencies:

Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plumbing systems and materials

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings (with training)

Team-oriented and able to follow verbal and written instructions

Willingness to learn electrical, mechanical, and structural systems

Strong organizational and communication skills
Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED
-
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
-
Must enroll in an accredited plumbing apprenticeship within one year of employment

Willing to obtain personal tools in a timely manner
-
Availability for on-call or emergency work
Physical Demands:

Stand, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods
-
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds

Climb ladders, work from scaffolding and lifts

Operate a company truck or vehicle

Perform other manual labor duties as needed
