Approved Electrician

Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced SJIB Approved Electrician to join our team on a temporary contract supporting ongoing electrical work across Aggregate Industries’ sites throughout Southern Scotland, including quarries, concrete plants, and other operational industrial environments.

This role is ideal for a qualified electrician who is confident working independently on industrial sites, carrying out inspection, testing, and remedial electrical work. You’ll be based in Motherwell and required to travel directly to various sites across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical inspection, testing, fault finding, and remedial repairs

• Work independently on live operational sites (e.g., quarries, concrete plants)

• Interpret and work from site drawings, scopes, and technical documents

• Ensure compliance with all required health and safety and certification standards

• Complete and submit accurate certification and reporting documentation

• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment

Essential Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation

• City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing)

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)

• AM2 and full apprenticeship (or equivalent experience)

• Valid ECS card (Essential)

• Experience working in industrial environments (e.g. quarries, plants)

• Strong knowledge of inspection and testing procedures in commercial/industrial settings

• Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overnight stays (accommodation provided)

• Must be eligible to be paid via CIS or PAYE only

Desirable

• MP Connect card (preferred but not required)
