Position Overview:
As an Accounts Receivable Representative 2 at Carle Health, you will handle advanced account activities and escalated payer disputes. You’ll serve as a reimbursement and billing expert for a defined payer product line while supporting process improvements and payer relationships. This position builds upon the responsibilities of an Accounts Receivable Representative 1 and requires strong problem-solving skills and in-depth knowledge of insurance billing, appeals, and reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform all essential job functions of an AR Representative 1

Manage complex edits, correspondence, and high-level work queues (e.g., EOB balancing, retro reviews, 72-hour bundling rule, credit adjustments)

Handle escalated account issues including:

Healthcare liens, settlements, bad debt, estate claims

Fraud investigations, risk management, and attorney requests

Process escalated appeals and engage in complex payer dispute resolution

Identify payer or system issues and suggest process improvements

Attend meetings with payer-specific provider representatives to reduce denials and maximize reimbursement
