Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, driven, and creative Assistant Brand Manager to join our Marketing team. You will lead brand activation efforts for Newman’s Own in the UK and English Provender in the US, while owning and executing strategic plans for Very Lazy in the UK. This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn and grow under the guidance of the Marketing Manager, helping to drive brand performance, deliver marketing excellence, and identify growth opportunities across diverse markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Management & Activation

  • Lead the creation and execution of 12–18-month brand plans for Very Lazy in the UK, focusing on maintaining its #1 market position.

  • Manage timely product launches and marketing plans (NPD/EPD), including agency briefings, budget oversight, and packaging development.

  • Activate Newman’s Own in the UK and English Provender in the US, including retail sell-in, trade show support, and consumer marketing.

  • Develop and deliver marketing “toolkits” (e.g., branded decks, activity calendars) to internal teams and external partners.

  • Manage weekly agency and partner calls (Digital, Customer Service, US team) to drive brand decisions and project momentum.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Align cross-functionally with Commercial, Category, NPD, Production, and Customer Services teams to ensure flawless execution.

  • Visit the Newport factory monthly to foster collaboration and ensure brand standards are maintained at the point of production.

  • Communicate brand plans effectively across all internal and external stakeholders, championing the brand voice and values.

Insight, Reporting & Budget Management

  • Monitor market dynamics (consumer trends, competitors, and trade) to inform brand growth strategies.

  • Own and report on marketing budgets, weekly sales, and monthly brand tracking performance metrics (RSV, GM, share, stock).

  • Turn insights into strategic recommendations to meet business targets and drive ROI.

Brand Advocacy & Consumer Engagement

  • Serve as the internal brand champion, ensuring alignment and passion for brand objectives across departments.

  • Conduct monthly retail and online checks, reporting insights and actions back to the business.

  • Act as a cultural and consumer advocate—especially for the older demographic segment—by staying up to date on food trends, behaviours, and preferences.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ marketing experience, preferably in FMCG or consumer brands.

  • Strong project management and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage agencies and budgets effectively.

  • Creative thinker with commercial awareness.

  • Confident working across cross-functional teams.

  • Right to work in the UK (required).
