Join Active Together, hosted by Leicestershire County Council, as an Assistant Development Officer and play a key role in delivering our Physical Activity Framework across Leicestershire, Leicester, and Rutland.

About the Role

Working under the guidance of the Development Manager/Officer, you will support the implementation of programmes that promote health and physical activity. This includes:

Key Project Areas:

  • Delivering universal and targeted activity programmes across diverse communities and age groups

  • Raising awareness among professionals and communities about the health benefits of physical activity

  • Supporting organisations to embed physical activity into their services and policies

  • Assisting with national and local campaigns to reduce inactivity

  • Improving access to community-based physical activity facilities

  • Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all programme areas

What You’ll Need

Essential Criteria:

  • NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field or equivalent experience

  • Experience working in physical activity, sport, health, or community development

  • Experience supporting or delivering relevant programmes or campaigns

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with multi-sector stakeholders

  • Familiarity with national, regional, and local health and physical activity policies

  • A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
