Job Overview:

NYC Health + Hospitals, the largest public healthcare system in the U.S., is seeking an Assistant Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services to support the delivery of safe, cost-effective medication therapy. This position oversees clinical pharmacy meetings, formulary development, medication safety, and collaborates with various departments to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role involves managing formulary standardization, coordinating clinical pharmacy services, and supporting quality improvement initiatives across both inpatient and outpatient areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Enterprise Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and subcommittees, ensuring effective communication and follow-up.

  • Collaborate with IT and Epic teams to facilitate proper system integration for formulary updates.

  • Coordinate cost analysis and formulary considerations with the procurement team.

  • Lead medication safety initiatives, conducting root cause analysis and identifying best practices.

  • Ensure adherence to clinical pharmacy standards across the health system, promoting quality assurance and cost-effective therapies.

  • Provide educational support to medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff, enhancing drug utilization practices.

  • Manage drug expense to budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings.

  • Serve as the clinical liaison for pharmaceutical care and workflow software integration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid NYS Pharmacist license.

  • Four years of full-time experience as a licensed Pharmacist, with at least two years in an administrative or managerial role in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PharmD degree.

  • Completion of PGY1 and PGY2 Pharmacy Practice Residency Programs.

  • Experience in formulary management, clinical pharmacy, and project management
