Finance Controller (with Bookkeeping & Admin Duties)
Location: Basingstoke RG21 6YH (Hybrid)

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per year (DOE)
Reports To: CEO
About the Role
Are you an experienced finance professional seeking a varied and hands-on role? We’re looking for a Finance Controller to lead the financial operations of three growing small businesses in Basingstoke. This dynamic role includes a blend of financial management, bookkeeping, and administrative oversight. You’ll work closely with the CEO to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and the smooth day-to-day running of the offices.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management

Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for each business

Manage cash flow, payroll (PAYE), and contractor payments

Ensure VAT, payroll taxes, and corporation tax compliance

Liaise with external accountants and auditors

Maintain and improve internal financial controls
Bookkeeping

Maintain accurate records using Xero

Handle accounts payable and receivable, including credit control

Reconcile bank and card statements, process payroll
Office & Administrative Support

Oversee general office supplies and logistics

Coordinate meetings, staff calendars, and travel

Assist with event planning and client coordination

Ensure health and safety compliance in office environments
About You
Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Accounting, Business Admin or similar; ACCA/CPA preferred

5–7 years of finance/accounting/bookkeeping experience in small business settings

Experience with Xero and Microsoft Office Suite

Previous admin/operations experience desirable

Self-starter with ability to manage workload independently across multiple businesses
