Assistant Nurse Manager Opportunity at Legacy Health

Your Role:

As an Assistant Nurse Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Nurse Manager by overseeing the daily operations of your unit. This includes:

  • Managing staffing and scheduling to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Leading the orientation and onboarding of new team members.
  • Facilitating ongoing education and competency assessments for staff.
  • Contributing to budget monitoring and efficient resource utilization.
  • Upholding and advancing patient care standards.
  • Promoting the integration of evidence-based practices.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required, while a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN/MN) is preferred.
  • Experience: You will need relevant clinical nursing experience demonstrating a proficient to expert level of practice, along with two years of supervisory, leadership, or charge nurse experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential, alongside strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management abilities. A solid understanding of unit operations, including staffing, scheduling, productivity management, workflow planning, and staff development, is also key. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.

  • Licensure: A current and valid state RN license is required. Specialty certification is preferred, and a current BLS certification is necessary upon hire.
