General Position Summary

At Lids, Assistant Store Managers are the heart of the brand. You’ll support all aspects of store performance, from achieving sales results to creating a fun, inclusive environment for your team. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service, manage operations, and ensure the store reflects the Lids brand every day.

Key Responsibilities

People & Training

  • Act as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is not present.

  • Manage and train associates using Lids Training Programs.

  • Support scheduling, staffing, and recruitment efforts.

  • Enforce company policies and maintain a respectful, inclusive environment.

Customer Experience

  • Drive KPIs and sales targets using the Selling 101 strategy.

  • Handle escalated customer concerns with a “make it right” mindset.

  • Ensure customers are offered memberships and promotions.

  • Maintain visual merchandising standards and store cleanliness.

Operations

  • Execute company promotions and directives.

  • Manage store technology, cash handling, and facilities.

  • Support inventory audits and ensure compliance with safety procedures.

  • Open and close the store as needed.

Product & Inventory Management

  • Protect company assets and manage store inventory.

  • Support backroom organization and product presentation.

  • Execute merchandising layouts, promotional signage, and seasonal updates.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1+ year of retail or relevant experience.

  • Proven sales results with minimal loss.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders.

  • Ability to work unsupervised.

Preferred

  • Retail leadership experience.

  • Familiarity with inventory systems and visual merchandising.
