About the Job

Founded in 1966 by a dedicated group of physicians—including Dr. Carreon, whose legacy lives on in the surrounding community—John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital has evolved from its origins as Indio Community Hospital into a 145-bed facility recognized for quality care. The hospital offers a wide range of services including 24/7 Emergency Care, Level 4 Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Advanced Orthopedics, Cardiovascular Services, Maternity and Pediatric Care, Interventional Radiology, and Comprehensive Imaging Services. It is accredited by The Joint Commission and holds multiple awards for clinical excellence, including Gold Plus status from the American Heart Association and Chest Pain Accreditation.

Position Overview: Associate Administrator

As Associate Administrator, you will be responsible for leading the strategic and day-to-day operations of assigned hospital departments. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role focuses on operational efficiency, departmental coordination, regulatory compliance, and overall organizational performance. A key liaison among department heads, medical staff, and community partners, you will oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and policy development while supporting staff development and patient-focused service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct operational planning, performance evaluation, and goal setting for assigned departments.

  • Collaborate with department leaders to align goals and streamline operations across the hospital.

  • Oversee hiring, staff development, budgeting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Monitor financial performance, ensure quality patient care, and uphold ethical and regulatory standards.

  • Support strategic initiatives, including growth planning, facility upgrades, and special projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive hospital leadership experience.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement operational strategies that drive results.

  • Experience with physician engagement, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to mentor and develop cross-functional teams.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for MBA, MHA, or related graduate degree.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $141,500 – $212,300 annually (dependent on location, experience, and qualifications).

  • Eligible for Annual Incentive Plan bonus (10–25%) and sign-on/relocation bonuses for qualifying candidates.
