About the Job:

NYU Langone Health, a leading academic medical center renowned for exceptional patient care, research, and education across over 200 locations in the New York area, is seeking a Network Systems Manager. This role demands a leader to manage a team of engineers, set priorities, streamline workflows, manage stakeholder expectations, and communicate progress to leadership. You will be instrumental in driving innovation and refreshing our network systems platform technology across all of NYU Langone Health’s business units, ensuring secure application delivery. This includes collaborating with architects on security strategies, developing connectivity solutions, performing capacity planning, and evaluating emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a technical team to deliver network systems solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of network platforms and develop a technology roadmap.
  • Collaborate with architects to enhance enterprise security through network platforms.
  • Develop network connectivity solutions for enterprise applications.
  • Conduct proactive capacity planning for network resources.
  • Assess market trends and recommend their integration into our network strategy.
  • Communicate effectively across teams and with vendors.
  • Provide technical escalation support to the Network Operations team.
  • Foster a collaborative culture and drive performance improvement within the organization.
  • Define and implement strategies for network systems transformation, including vision, roadmap, and governance.
  • Facilitate the rapid integration of new technologies to ensure secure and seamless data access.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience and a BA/BS degree (or equivalent).
  • Prior supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in the Networking field.
  • Strong expertise in Cisco IOS, Cisco hardware, IP Routing, and Switching.
  • Working knowledge of IP Firewalls, IP Load Balancers, and IP Multicast.
  • Deep understanding of systems design in TCP/IP, Cisco IOS, LAN/WAN, Service Provider/Extranet networks, Ethernet switching, BGP, EIGRP, SNMP, VPN, MPLS, VRF, Traffic Engineering, IPSEC, etc.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) with various Cisco networking platforms (physical and virtual), including ASR/ISR routers, Catalyst Switches, Nexus/ACI, Wireless Controllers, Traffic Shaping solutions, Infoblox, and Network Monitoring Tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-level network service tools: firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, TACACS+, VPN, and NAC.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 1  
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
