Launch Your Career as an Associate Technology Specialist at IBM

Looking to start your tech journey in an innovative and inclusive environment? IBM’s Client Innovation Centre is hiring enthusiastic graduates for the Associate Technology Specialist role. If you’re passionate about software, cloud, or DevOps and ready to grow with one of the world’s top tech firms, this could be your opportunity. As an Associate Technology Specialist, you’ll gain hands-on experience and complete a structured training program combining virtual classrooms, blended e-learning, and practical project work. Roles are available in Leicester, Hursley, Manchester, or Preston—so relocation may be needed. Start date: October.

Why Become an Associate Technology Specialist at IBM?

As a future Associate Technology Specialist, you’ll be trained in cutting-edge IBM technologies. You don’t need to arrive with all the tech skills—just curiosity, commitment, and a growth mindset. IBM’s world-class programme will build your technical and professional knowledge, helping you transition into impactful project work. You’ll work in agile teams, contribute to real client solutions, and become part of a supportive graduate community.

What You’ll Do as an Associate Technology Specialist

As an Associate Technology Specialist, your responsibilities may include:

  • Designing, developing, and testing cloud-native or legacy applications.

  • Collaborating with clients and IBM teams to deliver working, maintainable code.

  • Maintaining code quality, building APIs, and implementing automation.

  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines and applying security practices.

  • Working on cloud data engineering and enterprise application configuration.

What Makes You a Great Fit for the Associate Technology Specialist Role?

We’re looking for graduates on track for a 2:2 or above, with:

  • Passion for technology and eagerness to grow your skills.

  • Team spirit, adaptability, and a proactive mindset.

  • Exposure to any of the following is a plus: Java, Python, Node.js, React, Angular, C++, or C#.

  • Interest in cloud tech (AWS, Azure), Git, or agile methods.

Don’t worry if you don’t tick every box—if you’re a problem solver and quick learner, we want to hear from you!

Additional Info

  • Eligibility: You must have the legal right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, IBM does not offer visa sponsorship.

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

  • IBM Locations: Leicester, Hursley, Manchester/Preston.
