About the Role
The Automotive Controller is a key member of the plant leadership team(s), working closely with plant leaders to provide financial insights, planning, and analysis. This role oversees cost accounting, P&L control, financial reporting integrity, and internal controls while also serving as a hands-on leader for the finance team.
Key Responsibilities

Partner with plant leadership, VP, and Sales to maximize business value

Lead financial planning, budgeting, and variance analysis

Prepare and review monthly financial statements for assigned business units

Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate reporting and risk management

Ensure proper SOX documentation and audit compliance

Provide operational and sales insights through financial analysis

Develop and monitor business unit performance metrics

Lead and mentor financial staff; partner with HR on recruiting and coaching

Drive process improvement and innovation across finance functions

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local financial requirements

Safeguard financial information and enforce internal controls
Qualifications
Required:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

5+ years of accounting and finance experience
Preferred:
-
Advanced degree or CPA/CMA certification
-
Manufacturing industry experience
Other:

Travel up to 10% (primarily day trips)
