The role
ev.energy’s smart charging software makes it simpler and cheaper for EV drivers to charge whilst reducing carbon emissions and helping balance the electricity network. We are the market leader in providing grid flexibility services through EV charging, making electric vehicles a valuable resource for the grid and advancing the mission to decarbonise both the transport and electricity sector.
You will create solutions to deliver automated, reliable and scalable demand side response services for network system operators and utilities. You will work on enhancing our smart charging technology and third-party API integrations.
Our tech stack includes Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and AWS. We use Datadog and Sentry for observability. We focus on developing high quality code, following a common set of Engineering Principles, and believe strongly in being customer-focused in everything we do.
What are we looking for?
- Commercial experience with Python 3 (we’re on v3.11 currently)
- An excellent understanding of APIs
- An excellent understanding of relational databases (we use PostgreSQL)
- An understanding of oAuth and identity management
- Commercial experience with Django (we’re on v5 currently)
- Great communication skills to collaborate well with a remote team
- Confidence digging into challenging problems, with an analytical and investigative mind
- Experience with demand side response and grid services is desirable but not essential
