Backend/Infrastructure Engineer

Role Summary

As a Founding Backend & Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the core backend systems and cloud infrastructure of a next-generation AI platform. Your work will directly enable secure, reliable deployments across high-stakes environments such as federal agencies and Fortune 50 companies. You will own key architectural decisions and be instrumental in delivering a robust foundation that can scale with growing demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Backend and Infrastructure Development
  Design, implement, and maintain the platform’s backend and infrastructure using modern tools such as Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, Helm, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Feature Development and Integration
  Contribute to full-stack development, primarily using TypeScript, Python, and React. Build and integrate new features that enhance the platform’s usability, security, and functionality, ensuring alignment with customer use cases.

• Cloud Architecture and Security
  Architect and maintain high-availability, multi-tenant cloud deployments with support for Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) and Managed Service Tenant (MST) models. Apply best practices for application security (AppSec), infrastructure hardening, and compliance with security frameworks.

• Customer-Focused Engineering
  Collaborate closely with customers and go-to-market (GTM) teams to understand real-world deployment challenges. Tailor platform capabilities to meet complex operational and security requirements at scale.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience
  5–10 years of professional experience in backend and infrastructure engineering, preferably within high-growth startups or mission-critical environments.

• Technical Expertise
  Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (especially AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), database management (PostgreSQL and vector databases), and CI/CD tools.

• Full-Stack Flexibility
  Proven ability to contribute across the stack, especially with TypeScript, Python, and React, balancing infrastructure depth with hands-on product development.

• Security & Reliability Focus
  Strong background in building systems with a focus on performance, uptime, security, and resilience—particularly in multi-tenant or regulated environments.
