We’re committed to professional integrity, patient confidentiality, and accurate revenue cycle management—and we’re looking for an experienced Billing Specialist to help support that mission.

Position Overview:

The Behavioral Health Billing Specialist will be responsible for accurate claims submission, denial management, AR follow-up, and communication with payers. This role demands hands-on expertise in behavioral health billing, especially with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance, and coordination with our offshore billing team. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting clinical and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submit timely and accurate claims for outpatient behavioral health services

  • Manage accounts receivable (AR) and follow up on unpaid or denied claims

  • Correct and resubmit denied/rejected claims

  • Coordinate with billing team abroad and support AR clean-up efforts

  • Communicate with payers (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) to resolve issues

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer regulations

  • Maintain up-to-date billing records in ICANotes and billing software

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve billing inquiries

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of behavioral health billing experience (mandatory)

  • Proficient in ICD-10, CPT coding, and EOB interpretation

  • Strong understanding of payer requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, CBH, CCBH, etc.)

  • Experience using EHR and electronic billing platforms (ICANotes preferred)

  • Ability to work independently and communicate with remote team members

  • Must pass an FBI and Pennsylvania Background Check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in medical billing/coding (e.g., CMRS, CPB)

  • Prior experience with CBH/CCBH claims submission

  • Experience generating financial and billing reports

  • Familiarity with small practice billing environments

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Pay: $21.00 – $23.00/hour (based on experience)

  • Hours: 12–18 hours/week

  • Work Location: On-site in Philadelphia, PA 19148
