 Key Responsibilities of the Behaviour Support Assistant Role

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your role will include:

• Supporting students individually or in small groups to improve classroom behaviour and engagement

• Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviours and encourage self-regulation

• Working closely with SENCOs and teaching staff to provide tailored support

• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to understand their needs and triggers

• Assisting in behaviour management planning and tracking students’ progress

 Ideal Candidate for the Behaviour Support Assistant Position

We are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant who:

• Has a strong desire to help students with behavioural challenges

• Brings prior experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural issues (preferred)

• Exhibits patience, excellent communication skills, and a problem-solving attitude

• Has experience in a similar support role or is seeking practical experience in child development or education

• Possesses or is willing to apply for an enhanced DBS check
