Key Responsibilities of a Benefit Claim Specialist

Evaluate and make informed decisions on disability claims in partnership with management.

Maintain thorough case files documenting all claim actions and decisions.

Collaborate with internal and external partners to review ongoing claim liabilities.

Accurately determine financial liability, calculate benefits, and approve payments.

Communicate claim decisions effectively and empathetically to claimants.
Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of disability claim experience in STD or LTD.

Ability to interpret insurance provisions and contracts.

Proficiency in calculating benefits and managing offsets for accurate payments.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual in Spanish (verbal and written).
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $26.00–$27.00/hr for Benefit Claim Specialist; up to $76,000/yr for Lead Benefit Claim Specialist.
