Overview
HUB International, one of the world’s largest insurance brokers, is seeking a Benefits Technology Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on configuring, maintaining, and supporting HUB’s Benefits Administration systems for clients, ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant benefit administration. As a Benefits Technology Specialist, you will collaborate with account service teams, train clients and internal staff, and provide ongoing technical support to enhance the client experience. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in commercial insurance, employee benefits, and benefits technology.
Key Responsibilities of a Benefits Technology Specialist

Configure and maintain HUB’s preferred Benefits Administration systems based on client requirements.

Test system functionality, including integration, regression, and acceptance tests, ensuring accurate client configurations.

Implement annual renewal changes, benefit class updates, rates, permissions, and field options.

Build and maintain Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) files to meet business objectives.

Train clients and internal account teams on system use and provide demonstrations as needed.

Support ACA reporting and advise clients on new products, services, and system updates.

Maintain accurate client files and documentation in HUB’s internal systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve client system issues, ensuring prompt and professional support.
Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

2–4 years of experience in commercial insurance, benefits administration, or related fields.

Life & Health license preferred.

Strong knowledge of employee benefits products, legislation (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA), and benefits technology systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel skills; project management and database software experience preferred.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ideal Candidate

Holds a high school diploma/GED (college degree strongly preferred).

Has 3+ years of commercial lines insurance experience in a brokerage environment.

Licensed in good standing (Life & Health preferred).

Confident interacting at all levels and computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook).
