Human Resources Generalist
We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to provide vital HR expertise and guidance to our managers and employees. In this role, you’ll be key in fostering strong work relationships, boosting morale, and increasing productivity and retention.
Essential Job Functions
As an HR Generalist, you will:
- Provide HR expertise and guidance to both managers and employees on various employee matters.
- Administer a wide range of human resources policies, procedures, and plans for your assigned employee groups.
- Act as a liaison between management and employees to quickly resolve employee relations issues, preventing escalation and potential risk.
- Manage all employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations, documenting complaints, and participating in corrective actions. You’ll also provide guidance in accordance with company policies and review with legal counsel when necessary.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries on topics such as benefits, employee status changes, onboarding and exiting processes, and policy interpretation.
- Offer performance management guidance to leadership.
- Utilize HRIS functionality to provide system support to assigned employees and approve employee status changes.
- Maintain knowledge of Federal, State, and local employment laws to ensure compliance within your assigned geographic area.
- Assist with recruiting efforts as needed.
- Be prepared for duties, responsibilities, and activities to be assigned or changed occasionally.
Minimum Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or in a similar role.
- Employee or labor relations experience is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required.
- PHR or SPHR Certification is preferred.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Human Resources Systems such as Ceridian and Oracle HCM is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic HR governance (e.g., employee relations, EEOC, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, employment law/regulations, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
- The ability to make decisions and operate independently on complex issues with high exposure.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write and communicate concisely, clearly, and persuasively.
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
- Occasional travel will be required.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change while working in a team environment.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary Range: The base salary is estimated to be $70,000 – $80,000 per year, plus eligibility for an additional incentive program. Please note that this range is an estimate and may change based on factors like skills, experience, education, market conditions, geographical location, budget, and demand.
