Billing Accountant – Hybrid Role in Northern Virginia
Goldbelt Incorporated, an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) headquartered in Juneau, Alaska, is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Accountant to join our team. This hybrid position, local to Northern VA, offers the opportunity to work in-office a few times per month. The Billing Accountant will manage invoice preparation, monitor accounts receivable, resolve billing disputes, and ensure timely collections, contributing to Goldbelt’s mission of positively impacting the lives of over 4,200 Alaska Native shareholders. Key Responsibilities for the Billing Accountant
Invoice Preparation and Billing Management

Prepare various types of invoices (FFP, T&M, CP) with high-volume travel invoicing and receipt packaging.

Apply cash receipts to aged accounts receivable in Costpoint.

Analyze monthly unbilled receivables and resolve issues.

Prepare intercompany invoices for labor and other cross-subsidiary transactions.

Review contracts and modifications to ensure accurate billing.
Accounts Receivable and Collections

Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and collections issues.

Assist with month-end closeout activities, including fund cancellations and final invoicing.

Maintain billing master files and support internal and external audits.
Collaboration and Communication

Work effectively with internal teams and clients to resolve billing inquiries.

Communicate diplomatically with stakeholders, partners, and shareholders.

Adapt messaging and strategies for diverse audiences with cultural sensitivity.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience

3+ years of experience in government contract billing.

Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint (Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Projects Module).

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Preferred Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.

Experience with government invoicing platforms (WAWF, IPP).

Department of State Travel Billing experience.

Previous work with Alaska Native Corporations or exposure to Alaska Native cultures.

Prior government contracting experience.
Pay and Benefits

Salary: $59,000 – $81,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications).
