At OnTarget, we are looking for a Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our remote healthcare billing team. As a Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will manage billing claims, post payments, collect accounts receivable, and ensure accurate processing for clients. This role is perfect for someone detail-oriented, organized, and dedicated to providing excellent customer service while supporting our mission to streamline healthcare revenue operations.

Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities
As a Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will create batch billing from time records, generate invoices, and ensure electronic billing is processed according to payer guidelines. You will review EDI reports, resolve rejections, confirm provider and NPI numbers, and maintain billing configurations in the client database.

Accounts Receivable Management
The Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist will collect payments from payers, families, and government entities, resolve claim denials, post payments, and monitor accounts receivable to identify and fix billing issues. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential in this role.

Authorization & Client Support
Maintain authorizations in EHR, provide backup support for the authorization team, and act as a liaison between clients, payers, and internal departments. You will run reports to track on-hold billing, ensure compliance with SOPs, and maintain service codes and billing rates.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare billing, claims handling, accounts receivable, or payment posting experience

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint)

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or higher preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $50,000 – $52,000, determined by location, experience, and qualifications

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and wellness benefits (effective after 60 days)

  • 401(k) plan eligibility after 12 months

  • Remote role (must reside in North Carolina, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania)
