Job Summary

Denver Health is actively hiring a Coder I to join our high-performing coding team. You will be responsible for reviewing patient medical records and assigning accurate diagnostic and procedural codes (ICD/CPT/HCPCS). This role supports billing accuracy, data integrity, and hospital compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Code diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers with ≥95% accuracy

  • Meet productivity and timeliness benchmarks

  • Follow hospital and departmental coding guidelines

  • Participate in educational training and maintain credentials

  • Support creation and revision of desk procedures

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Less than 1 year of coding experience or completed coding coursework

  • Must pass a pre-hire coding proficiency test (≥70%)

  • Certified through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CPC-A, CCS, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and medical software (e.g., Epic preferred)
