About the Role
The Billing Coordinator at the Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery plays a vital role in our front office operations. You will be responsible for managing insurance claims, generating invoices, and acting as a liaison between patients, insurance providers, and internal staff. This is a full-time, on-site position in Jackson, NJ, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and has experience with both medical and dental billing.
Responsibilities

Accurately gather billing data and generate patient invoices

Prepare and submit medical and dental insurance claims using internal systems

Serve as the key point of contact for patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding payments, eligibility, and approvals

Understand and navigate insurance guidelines to ensure accurate reimbursement

Communicate professionally via phone, in person, and electronic messaging

Prioritize workload based on patient scheduling and deadlines

Ensure patient information remains confidential and HIPAA-compliant

Assist with other office duties as needed
Requirements
Education & Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent (required)

Associate’s degree or vocational school training (preferred)

Minimum 1 year of relevant billing experience (required)
Skills & Knowledge:

Proficient in reading Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)

Familiarity with medical and dental coding and terminology

Working knowledge of medical and dental insurance benefits

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Experience using Dental Practice Management Software

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
