About the Role
We are seeking a Billing Specialist to join our Billing & Invoicing team. In this role, you will ensure accurate claim submission, resolve billing discrepancies, and provide excellent customer service while supporting compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance requirements.
This role can be performed remotely.
Key Responsibilities

Review and submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and private payers.

Verify accuracy and completeness of billing information prior to submission.

Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolve issues, and resubmit as needed.

Read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and apply payer rules.

Investigate denials and take corrective actions to secure reimbursement.

Provide customer service regarding billing inquiries, insurance processes, and benefits.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal policies.

Perform additional billing duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications

High school diploma required; college degree preferred but not required.

6–12 months of billing, insurance, or healthcare-related experience (or equivalent).

Proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Familiarity with practice management software preferred.

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and time management skills.

Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical & Work Environment

Office environment, remote eligible.

Regular sitting, standing, and walking required.

Occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
