About the Job: Medical Billing Specialist
Pediatric Home Service, a compassionate leader in home healthcare, is dedicated to helping medically fragile children live their best lives at home and in their communities. We also strive to create a rewarding and enjoyable workplace for our team. We’re currently seeking a full-time, fully remote Medical Billing Specialist to join our customer-focused and supportive billing team.
Location: Houston, TX (Remote) Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Your Role
As a Medical Billing Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in our revenue cycle. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and submitting insurance claims and patient statements.
- Rebilling insurance companies and third parties to secure payments.
- Analyzing partial payments and denials from insurance companies to find resolutions.
- Verifying cashier entries and making necessary corrections.
- Contacting patients about outstanding balances and setting up payment plans.
- Sending delinquent accounts to collection agencies when required.
- Processing insurance payments in our computerized billing system.
- Training personnel on the computerized billing system as needed.
- Responding to billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies.
- Recommending write-offs and adjustments to management.
- Conducting confirmations and quality assurance reviews, then developing corrective actions for approval.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- The ability to problem-solve and work independently.
- Technical skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Previous medical billing experience is preferred.
- Brightree experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical coding is a plus.
