Overview

Carle Health is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring daily billing productivity, assisting with staff training, resolving patient billing inquiries, and supporting effective revenue cycle management. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate billing operations and a positive experience for both patients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily billing activities including charge posting, payment posting, and co-pay collections

  • Communicate billing status and updates to the Billing Supervisor regularly

  • Provide onboarding support and billing training for new team members

  • Identify billing issues, communicate them promptly, and follow up to ensure resolution

  • Manage account queues in accordance with departmental protocols

  • Maintain accurate reconciliation and daily balancing documentation

  • Serve as a resource to staff and patients for all billing-related questions

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Certifications: Not specified; billing-related certification preferred

  • Experience: Previous medical billing or healthcare accounts receivable experience strongly preferred
