Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to support our patient billing and insurance claims processes. You will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by resolving outstanding balances, posting accurate charges, and providing top-notch customer service to patients and providers.
Key Responsibilities:

Reconcile outstanding balances from patients and insurance companies

Contact insurance carriers and patients to resolve claims and collect payments

Maintain and manage accounts sent to collection agencies

Use Allscripts Practice Management software to post charges, payments, and adjustments

Communicate clearly with patients, providers, coworkers, and leadership

Apply knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes for accurate billing

Perform general office and administrative support tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED
-
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
-
CPC and/or AHIMA certification required

Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:

1+ years of customer service or medical billing experience

Background in ophthalmology, optometry, ASC, or optical billing

Familiarity with revenue cycle management (RCM) processes
