About the Job

Brand Communications Manager – Terumo Interventional Systems

Terumo Interventional Systems (TIS) seeks a Brand Communications Manager to develop and implement digital and traditional brand communications aligned with integrated marketing communications (IMC) plans. This role directly impacts TIS’s financial performance and requires strong leadership, management, and cross-functional collaboration. Partnering strategically with product management is crucial for developing IMC plans and executing marketing tactics. This position also contributes to overall Terumo brand stewardship. Projects must be executed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with TMC/TIS teams, particularly Product Marketing, to develop and implement communication programs and campaigns supporting IMC plans.
  • Direct external agencies in designing, creating, implementing, and evaluating brand communications.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, US laws, and clinical representation.
  • Manage brand communication expenses within budget.
  • Provide guidance on brand guidelines and training to TMC associates.
  • Utilize market research firms as needed.
  • Assist in trade show planning and execution.
  • Provide strategic direction for TMC internet and intranet sites.
  • Contribute to internal projects (content development, editing, proofing).
  • Oversee media schedules and contribute to PR programs.
  • Play an integral role in company-wide activities and events.
  • Expand knowledge of product lines, disease states, and treatments.
  • Demonstrate commitment to patient safety and product quality by complying with TMC Quality Systems requirements.
  • Adhere to regulations regarding promotional material content.
  • Follow procedures for good clinical practices and design control.
  • Adhere to FDA regulations, international guidelines, and Terumo policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Office environment with approximately 20% overnight travel (including occasional weekends). Occasional visits to hospitals and medical facilities are required, which may include vendor credentialing requirements and the ability to work in specialized environments like IR suites, Cath labs, and operating rooms.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Background Experiences:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
    • 8+ years of increasing responsibility in marketing communications.
    • Medical device industry experience and experience in cardiovascular or endovascular is highly desired.
    • Knowledge of multimedia and digital marketing.
