Overview

GovCIO is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team as a subject matter expert. This fully remote position is open to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS). Please note: this role is contingent upon contract award.

As a Business Analyst, you’ll work closely with stakeholders, product teams, and technical experts to refine requirements, document business processes, and ensure software solutions align with user and organizational needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business and system requirements, with a strong focus on discovery and process improvement.

  • Develop detailed user stories, functional specifications, and documentation to guide development teams.

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and stakeholders to align requirements with long-term goals.

  • Conduct stakeholder sessions to gather technical and business needs, maintaining documentation throughout the lifecycle.

  • Facilitate cross-team communication to align business operations and project goals.

  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Support project deliverables by ensuring requirements traceability, validation, and adherence to Agile best practices.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (2–5 years).

  • Proven background in business analysis, preferably within federal government IT projects.

  • Strong experience with requirements discovery, development, and documentation.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and related tools.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or similar agencies.

  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear functional specifications.

  • Strong system and requirements analysis expertise.
