Overview
GovCIO is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team as a subject matter expert. This fully remote position is open to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS). Please note: this role is contingent upon contract award.
As a Business Analyst, you’ll work closely with stakeholders, product teams, and technical experts to refine requirements, document business processes, and ensure software solutions align with user and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities

Analyze business and system requirements, with a strong focus on discovery and process improvement.

Develop detailed user stories, functional specifications, and documentation to guide development teams.

Collaborate with project managers, architects, and stakeholders to align requirements with long-term goals.

Conduct stakeholder sessions to gather technical and business needs, maintaining documentation throughout the lifecycle.

Facilitate cross-team communication to align business operations and project goals.

Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Support project deliverables by ensuring requirements traceability, validation, and adherence to Agile best practices.
Qualifications
Required:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (2–5 years).

Proven background in business analysis, preferably within federal government IT projects.

Strong experience with requirements discovery, development, and documentation.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and related tools.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred:

Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or similar agencies.

Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear functional specifications.

Strong system and requirements analysis expertise.
