Key Responsibilities of a Business Analyst
In the Business Analyst position, you will play a vital role in shaping how deregulated energy clients operate and succeed. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with clients to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
- Supporting meter-to-cash processes and customer information system (CIS) workflows.
- Writing user stories using Gherkin syntax and refining them through Agile collaboration.
- Assisting in issue triage, data analysis, and root cause identification.
- Conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validating solution effectiveness.
- Reviewing enhancement requests and ensuring compliance with market regulations.
- Training clients on the VertexOne CIS system and related solutions.
- Managing issue resolution and communication through the VertexOne ticketing system.
Qualifications for the Business Analyst Role
To excel as a Business Analyst at VertexOne, you should have:
- 3–5 years of Business Analyst experience in a deregulated energy market.
- Familiarity with Customer Information Systems (CIS) and meter-to-cash processes.
- Experience with EDI, VXretail (UtiliBill), or C&I clients (preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Excel, SQL, Jira, Word, and Visio.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of the Texas deregulated energy market is considered a strong plus.
