Company Overview
Philip Morris International (PMI) is a global consumer goods company committed to creating a smoke-free future. The company is transforming its product portfolio to phase out cigarettes entirely and explore opportunities beyond the tobacco and nicotine sectors. Since 2008, PMI has invested over USD 14 billion in the development, scientific validation, and commercialization of innovative smoke-free alternatives for adults who would otherwise continue to smoke.

In November 2022, PMI strengthened its position by acquiring Swedish Match, a leading name in oral nicotine products. Together, the two companies have established a global leadership role in smoke-free alternatives, driven by flagship brands like IQOS and ZYN. As of Q1 2025, PMI’s smoke-free products were available in 95 markets and accounted for approximately 42% of the company’s net revenues.

Building on its expertise in life sciences, PMI announced in February 2021 its strategic goal to expand into the wellness and healthcare sectors—aiming to enhance lives by delivering integrated and seamless health experiences.
