Position Overview

The Business Development Manager – Sustainable Solutions plays a key role in advancing Ferguson’s sustainability initiatives by driving the adoption of high-efficiency products and green building practices. This role focuses on partnering with key customers and empowering sales teams to deliver environmentally responsible solutions that align with corporate and project-specific sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales field leadership to develop strategies that grow sustainable product sales across all customer groups.

  • Build expertise in green building, environmental products, and sustainable practices.

  • Lead training and coaching sessions on sustainability initiatives.

  • Identify and engage strategic customers to expand sustainable product portfolios.

  • Support projects with sustainability goals (e.g., LEED Silver, Gold, Platinum, Green Globes).

  • Track key performance indicators for sustainable sales and progress.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Communications, and Sustainability teams to enhance offerings.

  • Engage with Incentive and Rebate teams to optimize funding opportunities.

  • Support development of energy audits, green reporting, and value-added services.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Development or Sales (construction industry preferred).

  • Knowledge of sustainable practices and green building standards.

  • Prior experience with Ferguson (minimum 5 years) preferred.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

  • High-level product and vendor knowledge in Waterworks, Plumbing, Mechanical, Appliances, or HVAC.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel up to 50%.
