Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a CAMHS Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our dedicated Looked After and Adopted Children’s Team at Bromley CAMHS. This Band 7 role is ideal for newly qualified or recently trained Clinical Psychologists looking to develop their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment. As a CAMHS Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, you will provide evidence-based psychological therapies, contribute to assessments, and work closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

  • Deliver formulation-driven, evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, IPT, and EMDR.

  • Work collaboratively with families and the wider professional network to ensure holistic care.

  • Support initial assessments and contribute to post-assessment multidisciplinary case discussions.

  • Act as a care coordinator for selected cases, ensuring continuity of care.

  • Provide consultation, training, and supervision for assistant psychologists, trainees, and other professionals.

  • Participate in service development initiatives and contribute to quality improvement projects.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (HCPC-registered).

  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based psychological interventions.

  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in CAMHS or working with Looked After and Adopted Children.

  • Previous experience supervising junior staff or trainees.

  • Interest in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
